Laura Dwyer Schlecte & Jacqueline Austin
Laura Dwyer Schlecte:
Laura’s one-of-a-kind personality and passion for approaching things from a different perspective is the key to her success as a real estate professional and community leader. She has more than three decades of real estate experience and involvement in the Jackson community and has served one term as an elected official.
Laura’s experience and knowledge are unmatched, but what sets Laura apart from others is her creative vision and ability to communicate and empathize. She understands that people have individual needs, desires, goals, and ideas. By concentrating on them, she is able to help focus on what is important, what matters, and what the local citizens want to see accomplished. She then helps them understand and analyze the options, and get them to cooperate and collaborate in the process of seeking and implementing creative solutions to local issues and problems.
Laura is the Broker/Owners of Thinking Real Estate, a Michigan real estate brokerage firm, and is co-owner and “CIO” (Chief Idea Officer) of the Placemaking company Think Jackson. She is a national trainer for the National Association of REALTORs, specializing in Buyer Agency education; was one of five national trainers for Prudential Real Estate Affiliates; and, she has several recognized national certification in the real estate field.
Jacque’s attention to detail and ability to coordinate and implement any size project makes her the individual you want on your team. She knows how to juggle many projects at once and has an uncompromising drive for success. Her remarkable dedication and work ethic are part of her DNA, starting in her early teens as she worked her way up from the “mailroom” in her mother’s real estate company, to managing the family real estate business and real estate school.
Jacque has an unique ability to take a small idea, whether it is her own or someone else’s, and make it a bigger than life reality. She has a passion for her home town, Jackson, Michigan, and it shows in everything she does. She believes that she can make a difference in her community on a larger scale by implementing local, collaborative projects that create vibrancy and excitement in the community. Jacque has acquired a reputation that, if she is involved, the job will get done, done right, and done well.
Jacque is co-owner and “CEO” (Chief Events Officer) of the Placemaking company, Think Jackson; Quality Manager and a real estate agent of Thinking Real Estate, a Michigan real estate brokerage; Director of Professional Learning Network, a Michigan proprietary real estate school; and, completed a Masters of Urban Planning at the University of Michigan Taubman College in 2016.
